04. Trade of Efficiency/ 効率化の引換

UCLA AUD Building Design Studio 401

Project Breif:
The studio is concerned with the capacity of the section to develop complex spatial propositions. The stacked serial section such as mute, repetitive and indeterminate has been the foil against which many architectural projects ahve positioned themselves. In an effort to immediately challenge and interrogate the limitations of the stack we will begin by engaging a parking garage as an incitement for the development of sectionally charged proposal. For this project, I focused on the automated system parking garage via tree diagrams (right) in-order to explore further possibilities of the design language that is produced by the efficiency. For the section 2, the studio brief basically set off a problem of achieving a relationship between parking and gym program sectionally, and alternatively, to design a building in the city like downtown LA, with inadequate space, I chose to pursue automated as my parking system. The Benefits of automated parking are as follows;

1: Ability for efficiency.
2: Ability of parking system as an alternative proposition of organizing the space.
3: Parking Garage as a form making device.

While speaking of efficiency, when using an automated system, not like other, the automated removed the element of the ramp and gives more space in order to operate on the section in the way that allows the freedom and operating on the section. Which is the productive of efficiency to its space. However, for this project, it is not ultimately efficient. The building trades the efficiency of the parking against inefficiency in section, that is sort of substantiating to spatial characteristics that are being produce which is more important for this project.
