Project Breif:
The project entails a move from a general position to a specific project. The project continued by designing an entrance to a metro station in DTLA. The basic functions of an entrance will open up questions of enclosure, cover, scale, access and a relationship to the ground. The project contained ideas of rigidity and flexibility within the fragment from form study phase or in other words, the specific plasticity of the forms and ideas. This plasticity suggested an entry point into the project and meant for transposing from and ideas from the site of one architectural object to another.

Based on the form analysis practice, further developed the possibility of the directionality of the void and began to think about how does this feature leads to the quality of gradation on the site. The project continued by focusing on the relationship between mass and ground as well as seeking the “dissolve-ness”, which could be understand as the gradation between mass and the earth. At the same time, the drawings techniques also articulated the condition of ground and object and conceptualized the problem of the segregation. The drawing techniques that applied in this project such as different patterns of dots indicates the building transparency, line indicates the different plate density in the building. The pattern and plates will gradually reduce their number as far as user go down to the basement level.
